What Jesus Said Introduction Jesus Named The Generation † He said you, He said this generation, and He
meant exactly what He said. Every sign He listed belonged to them,
not us. Jesus Tied His Coming To The Temple's Destruction † His return in judgment was directly tied to
Jerusalem's fall. That was the end of the Old Covenant age, the end
of the sacrificial system, and the revealing of His New Covenant
kingdom. Jesus Promised To Come Before Some Died † Some standing there would live to see His
coming. That's not future to us. That's past to us and fulfilled
exactly on time. Jesus Said His Coming Would Be Seen In Judgment † Cloud coming is judgment language. The tribes
of the land were Israel. They mourned because the consequences of
rejecting their Messiah had arrived. Jesus Said The Kingdom Would Be Taken From Them † He told the leaders of His day that the
kingdom was being taken from them and given to the believers. That
happened in that generation when Jerusalem fell. Jesus Said The Gospel Would Reach Their World Before The
End Colossians 1:23 † Jesus said it would happen, and Paul said it
already did happen in their generation. That's fulfillment, not
futurism. By Dan Maines
† When Jesus
spoke about the end of the age, He spoke directly to His disciples
about events they would live to see. He named the audience, He named
the timing, and He described the signs that belonged to their
generation. Nothing He said was delayed for two thousand years. He
tied His words to the people standing in front of Him, and He
fulfilled everything exactly as He promised.
Matthew
24:34
Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away
until all these things take place.
Matthew
24:2
Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not
one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn
down.
Matthew
16:28
Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are
standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man
coming in His kingdom.
Matthew
24:30
And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the
sky, and then all the tribes of the land will mourn, and they will
see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and
great glory.
Matthew
21:43
Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken
away from you and given to a people producing the fruit of it.
Matthew 24:14
This gospel of the kingdom shall
be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and
then the end will come.
This gospel that you have heard, which was
proclaimed in all creation under heaven.
