What
"latter days" was Moses referring to, and did this prophecy
already come to pass (Deuteronomy 31:29)? The "latter days" Moses
referred to in Deuteronomy 31:29 were the final days of the Old
Covenant nation of Israel. This wasn't about the end of the world,
but the end of their covenant relationship due to rebellion. Moses
foretold their corruption and the resulting judgment. That judgment
came to its climax in the first century, with the destruction of
Jerusalem in AD 70, just as Jesus warned in Matthew 23 and 24. So yes, the prophecy did come to pass.
Israel provoked the Lord, rejected the Messiah, and suffered the
covenantal consequences, exactly as Moses said they would.
