"Satan's
Little Season" Part 2 of 4
A lot of people talk about We're in "Satan's Little
Season" based on Revelation 20, but as a Preterist, I believe
that idea is totally False. Here's why, I believe
that so-called season already happened in the first century.
1. Revelation 20:7–10
already happened
The "thousand years" is
symbolic of the time from Christ's resurrection to the destruction
of Jerusalem in 70 AD.
So Satan's "little season" = a
short window of deception before Jerusalem fell. Gog and
Magog? Symbolic of rebellious forces against the early Church, not
a literal future world war. "Fire came down from heaven"
(Rev. 20:9) = God's judgment on Jerusalem, not the end of the world.
2. Satan was crushed -
not delayed
Paul said:
"The God of
peace will soon crush Satan under your feet." - Romans
16:20
That was written to first-century believers. If
Satan was crushed soon, why are people still waiting for
him to rise again?
3. No second rebellion mentioned in the rest of the
Bible
Not one other passage teaches that Satan would
come back after being judged. In fact: John 12:31 –
"Now the ruler of this world will be cast out." Hebrews 2:14 –
Jesus destroyed the devil's power through death. 1 John 3:8 – Christ appeared to destroy
the works of the devil. 4. "Fire from heaven"
= 70 AD judgment
This is symbolic judgment language,
just like Ezekiel 38–39, Isaiah 29, and Luke 21.
When Rome
destroyed Jerusalem, that was the final exposure of Satan's
influence in redemptive history. Bottom line?
There's
no future "little season" coming. That battle has already
been fought - and won. The kingdom of Christ moves
forward. Satan has already been judged.
