Resurrection

Daniel 12:1-7 tells the prediction of end of the Age. And the Resurrection would occur when verse 7 is fulfilled.

Verse 2 is the Resurrection

Verse 6 the question is asked How long...

Verse 7 It would occur "when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered".

The only power Israel ever had was a covenant relationship with the Lord.

So, the resurrection would happen, when Israel and her covenant relationship was "completely shattered"

Daniel 12 predicted the end of the age, the resurrection. The only age predicted to come to an end in the entire bible was the old covenant age of Israel.

Matthew 13:39-40 - There are only two ages spoken about at this time in the bible "this age" and "new age" which is The Old Covenant Age and the The New Covenant Age.

Jesus is the Resurrection and a Life Giving Spirit
Ephesians 2:4-6 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), Ephesians 2:5
We have eternal life and can never die spiritually. Therefore, we don't need a resurrection. At death our bodies go to dust, and we go immediately to heaven:

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26
Jesus is saying, "He who believes in me shall live [spiritually], even if he dies [physically], and everyone who lives [physically], and believes in Me, shall never die [spiritually]."

Two categories of believers are discussed: those who would die before the resurrection, and those who would not. For those who died under the Old Covenant, He was The Resurrection, but for those who lived into the days of the New Covenant, He is the Life.

Under the New Covenant, there is no death, spiritually speaking. Where there is no death, there is no need of a resurrection. We have eternal life and can never die spiritually. Therefore, we don't need a resurrection. At death, we go immediately to heaven.

So, the resurrection is NOT for us it is NOT for the living. It was ONLY for the dead. It was for those who died before Jesus, when it was by works, when it was the law.
