If
All Prophecy Has Been Fulfilled, Now What?
Introduction: People often ask, "If all
prophecy has been fulfilled, now what?" That question reveals
an assumption that without a future return or judgment to wait for,
there must be nothing left. But that could not be further from the
truth. Fulfillment is not the end of the story. It is the beginning
of life in the full presence of God's promises. So now what? Now, we live in the
reality of His completed work, with a mission here and a hope
beyond. We Live in the Presence of God
Now • Revelation 21:3
"Behold,
the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will dwell among
them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among
them." We are not waiting for God to come
near. He already has. We live in the reality of a restored
relationship that Israel longed for. Christ dwells among us through
His Spirit and in His Body, the Church. • 2 Corinthians 6:16
"For
we are the temple of the living God, just as God said: I will dwell
among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they
shall be My people." We Live in the Fulfilled
Kingdom • Matthew 28:18-20
"All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go,
therefore, and make disciples of all the nations... teaching them to
follow all that I commanded you." We are not waiting for Jesus to be
enthroned. He is enthroned. We are not waiting for a kingdom. We are
in it. Our mission is not to wait, but to work, teaching,
discipling, serving. • Hebrews 12:28
"Therefore,
since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show
gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with
reverence and awe." We Live with Joy, Purpose, and
Eternal Hope • 1 Peter 1:3-5
"Blessed
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His
great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an
inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in
heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through
faith." Fulfilled prophecy does not cancel
hope. It confirms that God keeps His promises. That includes the
promise of eternal life in His presence. • 2 Corinthians 5:8
"We
are of good courage and prefer rather to be absent from the body and
to be at home with the Lord." Death is not the end. Being with
Christ after death is part of our fulfilled hope. The kingdom is
here, but the King also receives His faithful ones into His presence
beyond this life. • Philippians 1:21-23
"For
to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain... having the desire to
depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better." Paul's words remain true. Life now is
kingdom life, but death means gain, we enter His presence fully and
forever. Conclusion: If all prophecy has been fulfilled,
then now we live in what the prophets only dreamed of. We live in
Christ's kingdom, we walk in His Spirit, and we carry His mission.
And when our time here is finished, we go to be with Him in the
eternal joy of His presence. The story is not over. It has just
begun. The King reigns. The kingdom is here. The hope of eternal
life is sure. That is more than enough to live for and to die for. Amen.
