He is risen - not to begin a future kingdom, but to
establish one that would soon come in power. His resurrection was the
firstfruits of the harvest already underway in the first century.
"But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the
first fruits of those who are asleep." 1 Corinthians
15:20 NASB
The Resurrection
is not a far-off hope - it was the sign that the old age was passing
and the new had begun. The victory is complete. The kingdom has
come. Hallelujah.
