Ezekiel 42 The Chambers And
The Separation Of The Holy Fulfilled Introduction † Ezekiel 42 continues the vision of the
temple, now focusing on the priestly chambers and the clear
separation between what is holy and what is common † This shows God's order and holiness, not a
future building, but a fulfilled reality in Christ and His people † The structure and separation point to
completion, God has fully established His dwelling and His people Ezekiel 42:1 † The chambers represent preparation and
service, showing that access to God is ordered and intentional † This points to the priestly role fulfilled in
believers, who now serve God directly Ezekiel 42:2 † The exact measurements show completeness, God
finishes what He establishes † This reflects the finished work of Christ,
nothing is lacking in what God has built Ezekiel 42:3-4 † The layered structure shows ordered access,
not everyone approaches the same way † This is fulfilled in Christ, who opened the
true and living way while maintaining God's order Ezekiel 42:5-6 † The structure shows dependence, what is above
rests on what is already established † This reflects the foundation in Christ,
everything stands on Him alone Ezekiel 42:7-8 † The wall shows separation, God defines what
is inside and what is outside † This is fulfilled in the distinction between
those in Christ and those outside Ezekiel 42:9-10 † The entrance shows that access is defined by
God, not by man † Christ is that access, the only way into the
presence of God Ezekiel 42:11-12 † The consistency shows God's unchanging
nature, His order remains steady † This reflects the stability of what God
established in Christ Ezekiel 42:13 † These chambers are for those near to God,
showing intimacy and access † This is fulfilled in believers, who are now a
priesthood with direct access to God † The eating of holy things points to
participation in Christ as the true offering Ezekiel 42:14 † The garments show the distinction between
holy service and daily life † This reflects our identity in Christ, set
apart yet living among people † Holiness is carried in how we live, not
confined to a place Ezekiel 42:15-20 † The final measurement shows completion,
nothing is left unfinished † The separation between holy and common is
fully established † This is fulfilled in the New Covenant, where
God's people are clearly defined as His dwelling Historical References † Josephus describes the strict separations
within the temple system, showing how holiness boundaries were
enforced in the first century † Eusebius records the destruction of Jerusalem
in AD 70, confirming the end of the physical temple system † Clement of Alexandria identifies believers as
the true temple, aligning with the fulfilled meaning of this vision How It Applies To Us Today † We are God's temple now, His presence dwells
in His people † Holiness matters, not through rituals, but
through identity in Christ † Access to God is open, but it's still defined
by Him through Christ † We are set apart, even while living in the
world † God's work is complete, we are living in what
He already established Q & A Appendix Q When was Ezekiel 42 fulfilled Q Are these chambers literal future rooms Q What does the separation between holy and
common mean today Q Who are the priests in this fulfilled reality Q Why all the measurements † This is the fulfilled perspective we proclaim at

By Dan Maines
Then he brought me out into the
outer courtyard the way of the north, and he brought me to the
chamber which was opposite the separate area and opposite the
building toward the north.
Along the length, which was one
hundred cubits, was the north entrance; the width was fifty cubits.
Opposite the twenty cubits
which belonged to the inner courtyard, and opposite the pavement
which belonged to the outer courtyard, was gallery corresponding to
gallery in three stories. And before the chambers was an inner
walkway ten cubits wide, a way of one cubit; and their entrances were
on the north.
Now the upper chambers were
smaller, because the galleries took more space away from them than
from the lower and the middle in the building. For they were in three
stories and had no pillars like the pillars of the courtyards;
therefore the uppermost were smaller than the lowest and the middle
from the ground.
And the outer wall by the
side of the chambers toward the outer courtyard in front of the
chambers, its length was fifty cubits. For the length of the chambers
which were in the outer courtyard was fifty cubits; and behold, in
front of the nave it was one hundred cubits.
And below these chambers was
the entrance on the east side, as one enters them from the outer
courtyard. In the thickness of the wall of the courtyard toward the
east, in front of the separate area and in front of the building,
there were chambers.
And the walkway in front of
them was like the appearance of the chambers which were toward the
north, according to their length so was their width; and all their
exits were according to their arrangements and their entrances. And
corresponding to the entrances of the chambers which were toward the
south was an entrance at the head of the way, the way directly in
front of the wall toward the east, as one enters them.
Then he said to me, The north
chambers and the south chambers which are opposite the separate area,
they are the holy chambers where the priests who are near to the LORD
shall eat the most holy things; there they shall put the most holy
things, the grain offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering,
for the place is holy.
When the priests enter, they
shall not go out from the holy place to the outer courtyard, but
there they shall leave the garments in which they minister, for they
are holy; then they shall put on other garments and approach that
which is for the people.
Now when he had finished
measuring the inner house, he brought me out by the way of the gate
facing east and measured it all around. He measured on the east side
with the measuring rod five hundred rods by the measuring rod. He
measured on the north side five hundred rods by the measuring rod. On
the south side he measured five hundred rods with the measuring rod.
He turned to the west side and measured five hundred rods with the
measuring rod. He measured it on the four sides; it had a wall all
around, the length five hundred and the width five hundred, to divide
between the holy and the common.
